SC2006 is the International Conference for high performance
computing networking and storage. The theme, "Powerful
Beyond Imagination," for SC2006 will showcase how high
performance computing, networking, storage and analysis lead
to advances in research, education and commerce. ResearchChannel
will be participating as an exhibitor at SC2006.
Visualization and Collaboration:
The Research Environment of the Future
Demonstrations: Global, Collaborative HD Videoconferencing
and OptIPortal Visualization
Research and technology come together in this year’s
demonstration. The latest high-definition communication tools
allow researchers from around the globe to work together,
whether it’s to discuss their work or show research
findings in incredible detail so that they can see, analyze
and correlate data. From the University of Washington campus,
oceanography professor Deborah Kelley will give a lecture
in high definition to an audience in the booth. The University
of Michigan’s School of Information and Medical School
will show high-definition research video and images on the
OptIPortal, a remarkable tool that allows scientists to conduct
large-scale, application-driven e-science experiments. And
NTT Labs will demonstrate its very low latency hardware system,
i-Visto, which will run ResearchChannel’s proprietary
iHDTV™ technology.
