ResearchChannel now on iTunes U
New platform is another cutting-edge way to share research and discovery with a global audience
SEATTLE — ResearchChannel is reaching out to an ever-widening audience through Apple’s iTunes U, a dedicated area of the iTunes Store featuring educational content. ResearchChannel viewers can now watch or download ResearchChannel programs for free through iTunes U at itunes.researchchannel.org.
“We’re excited to be able to share the revolutionary research and discoveries available through ResearchChannel with even more viewers,” said Amy Philipson, executive director of ResearchChannel. “iTunes U also allows members of the ResearchChannel consortium further opportunity to share their content with the world.”
ResearchChannel is among the first nonprofit organizations to join iTunes U. Prestigious universities like Yale, Duke and Stanford are already using the platform to share their lectures, course content and other information in the same format with which iTunes users are already familiar. ResearchChannel has worked directly with Apple to make more than 400 programs available today, with more to be added regularly.
ResearchChannel programs examine fascinating topics: exploration of the planet Mars, how human creativity can boost America’s position in the global marketplace, the role of stem cells in the aging process, bioenergy and biofuels, state-of-the-art surgery and breakthroughs in vaccine research, and much more – now easily accessed from both the iTunes Store and ResearchChannel.org. All of these new discoveries and ideas are shared through the ResearchChannel consortium: the leading research and academic institutions which provide programming featuring their remarkable speakers, researchers and scholars.
