Australia's
Academic and Research Network (AARNet) Australia's Research
and Education Network (AARNet) provides high-capacity, cost-effective
Internet services to the education and research communities and
their research partners. AARNet focuses on collaboration, teaching,
learning and research by connecting people to Internet resources
anywhere, anytime. With its access to the global Internet, AARNet
is an incubator for the development of advanced network infrastructure
and applications.
AARNet is an international member of ResearchChannel and an active
partner involved in the hosting and distribution of academic and
research content and in pushing the boundaries of the video streaming
through high-definition TV. Although infrastructure is important,
access to a wide variety of online content is seen as a vital component
to ResearchChannel to assist educators and researchers in making
digital information in text, image, voice and video available to
all, to enhance the teaching and learning process. AARNet and ResearchChannel
have collaborated for many years and work is ongoing to deliver
a range of Australian specific content to augment the current ResearchChannel
content store that will be of value to the ResearchChannel community.
