The Indiana University School of Informatics, the nation’s first such school and second in the world, is located on IU campuses in Bloomington, Indianapolis and South Bend, with more than 800 undergraduate majors now enrolled in Informatics and New Media programs. IU Informatics offer a unique curriculum that combines IT concepts with another area of study, opening rewarding career opportunities for graduates.  Informatics offers a Ph.D. In Informatics, MS degrees in Bioinformatics, Chemical Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Media Arts and Science, Laboratory Informatics and Health Informatics. The Informatics Research Institute has ongoing funded research in data mining, bioinformatics, medical visualization, pervasive technologies research, community grids labs, visualization of scientific data, multilingualism on the Internet and cybersecurity among others.
