1. Know the various pathways of the renin-angiotensin system that mediate biological actions in tissues. 2. Comprehend the actions of angiotensin II and AT1 and AT2 receptors in blood vessels, the heart, and kidneys. 3. Be familiar with recent research on AT2 receptors and its relevance to human disease. 4. Relate recent discoveries on the renin-angiotensin system to hypertension and cardiovascular risk.
