Description: Children are at the mercy of their parents and the medical profession when it comes to prescription medication. Increasingly, psychotropic drugs are being prescribed for children who have been diagnosed with depression or Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Are we choosing to medicate because it is cheaper than evaluation and therapy? What are the long-term side effects of prescription drugs on children? Is there a relationship between prescribing these psychotropic drugs and school violence?
