Description: 
Between 2000 and 2020, the number of people 65 years or older in the United States will increase from 35 million to 53 million—a 53 percent increase. This is the fastest growing population segment in the United States and will impact age-related eye diseases such as macular degeneration and cataracts. Dr. Emily Chew, of the National Eye Institute, will explain age-related eye diseases, their incidence and the results of recent studies regarding nutritional supplements for these conditions.
