Description: The Internet has changed the way we work and live, and has contributed positively to the growth of business and industry. Nonetheless, many parts of the Internet architecture were developed more than 30 years ago. Since then, much has been discovered about networking and packet switching. Is this the way we would design the Internet if we were to start it now? The National Science Foundation has embarked on the design of GENI, the next-generation Internet to answer this very question. Take a look into the Internet of the future as Raj Jain, professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, discusses the key problems with the current internet architecture and proposed solutions.
