New vaccines help protect against infectious diseases such as shingles and human papillomavirus. While shingles typically displays obvious symptoms, HPV often does not. Learn why it is now more important than ever to vaccinate for smallpox, a highly contagious disease caused by the variola virus that kills 30 percent of unvaccinated people.
