Description: Genetic testing already plays in important role in health care, providing the means to identify many rare inherited health problems. With the Human Genome project, the scope of genetic testing is expanding, and genomic research offers new opportunities for studying how diseases occur and, over time, to new treatments. These developments offer great hope, but also pose risks and challenges.
