Description:
Maida Withers, professor of theatre and dance at George Washington University, presents “Dance of the Auroras - Fire in the Sky,” a poetic voyage through space from the Sun to Earth. Showcasing a performance of artistic modernity, the performance uses dance, music and cyber art to recreate the mystic luminaries of auroras. This international project reclaims the connections between science and art, technology and the natural world, drawing the audience into a ritual both ancient and new.
