A linguistics professor at Georgetown University, Deborah Tannen is the acclaimed author of "You're Wearing THAT? Understanding Mothers and Daughters in Conversation," which became an instant New York Times bestseller. Her previous book, "You Just Don't Understand," brought gender differences in ways of speaking to the forefront of public awareness. Professor Tannen has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Today, Good Morning America, Nightline, 20/20, and innumerable programs on National Public Radio (NPR). She has written for and been featured in several publications, including the New York Times, Time, Newsweek, the Washington Post, People, and the Harvard Business Review. Among her many other books are "The Argument Culture," "Talking from 9 to 5," "That's Not What I Meant!," and "I Only Say This Because I Love You."
