Description: Much of the high-profile research on diseases such as cancer and heart disease that annually kill millions is conducted at major medical schools around the country. But there is an entire parallel research effort conducted at major universities without medical schools, where researchers probe natural ingredients, cellular structure, and patterns of human behavior in an effort to improve our quality of life. In this program, 3 topics will be explored:
Mining drugs from the sea
Using fitness to offset osteoporosis
Movement studies in disability
